My Role & Approach

What I Do

  • Advance care planning conversations (As a Notary Public I offer on-site notarization services as part of my support)

  • Offer education and reassurance about the dying process

  • Vigil and bedside support

  • Non-medical comfort measures (music, touch, aromatherapy, holding space)

  • Legacy & memory-keeping activities.

  • After-Loss Navigation Support (General guidance, resources, emotional support)

  • And more...

What I Don't do

  • No medical or clinical care

  • No medication administration

  • No 24/7 medical supervision

  • No lifting, transferring, home health aide coverage

**If those services are needed, I can help connect families with licensed providers who can offer them.

** I do not perform any tasks reserved for licensed funeral directors in South Carolina. My role is limited to emotional, spiritual & informational support. All funeral arrangements, care of the body, and legal documentation are handled by a licensed funeral provider of your choice.

Scope of Practice

  • I provide non-medical, holistic support

  • I offer guidance, advocacy, presence, and continuity of support.

  • I work collaboratively with families, hospice, and other care providers.

  • I honor each person’s unique beliefs and traditions

  • End-of-Life Doulas complement, but do not replace hospice & medical care.
